Summer Fun!

I know it's been a while since I last posted, but between school and the kids home for summer break, my days are filling up fast.

One of the things that have mostly taken up my time is taking advantage of all the free things to do here in Southern California during the summer. From free movies, to concerts and movies in the park, to adventure walks in Griffith Park and hitting up all the summer craft fairs and farmers markets, I just love shuttling the kids around instead of keeping them cooped up all summer long. It not only keeps them busy, but it keeps me sane! :) Hitting the pool and Soak City has also been sprinkled in between museum visits and school shopping (yes, I know it's July, but the girls start mid-August!).

One thing I just HAVE to talk about before I'm done, is this new blog and new author I just found, Jen Lancaster. She's written Bitter is the New Black, Such a Pretty Face, Bright Lights, Big Ass and Pretty in Plaid and she is absolutely hilarious!!! I've read two of the four books and (if time permits) will finish the other two this month. She has a great sense of humor and I can relate to her on so many levels that it would take forever to count them. She was out here in Southern California in May, so I just missed her, but she has a new book she's working on, so I'm sure to catch her then. So if you're looking for great entertainment, a great read and someone to tell you like it is, then definitely pick up her books!
